Ideas for implementation
--students type a description of a character from a novel or story, putting the most important words in multiple times.
--copy and paste a paragraph from a text to show important words... to introduce or close a topic
--teach prepositions... create a wordle and have students tell where one word is compared to another
--teach spatial organization the same as prepositions above

- The computers for learning program is designed for schools and educational nonprofit organizations.The program provides refurbished computers from federal agencies with excess equipment.
- Delicious is a social bookmarking tool that allows you to find websites quickly and easily. The key to Delicious is that you can view websites viewed by other people. Delicious users tag websites with keywords.
- Slideshare allows users to upload PowerPoint, Keynote, Pages, and Word documents to a webpage. The documents can be viewed on the webpage or embedded into your website.
- A great future technology for the classroom. Augmented reality allows users to see 3D images through their webcam.
- Audacity is a free sound editor. Teachers can use Audacity to record their lessons, digital stories, or create podcasts for their students.
- Moodle is a open-source course management system that allows users to replicate the functionality of Blackboard and Desire 2 Learn.
- VoiceThread allows teachers to upload photos and documents to a webpage. Students can leave comments about the photo, or a teacher can upload a photo and students can give a brief description of the photo.
- Diigo allows teachers to bookmark, highlight, annotate, and share webpages with their students.
- Articulate is an award winning E-learning software suite that allows teachers to create, share, and publish E-learning content.
- Snagit is a screen capture program that allows teachers to record their actions. Snagit records the computer screen, so teachers can show step-by-step how to complete an educational task.
- Evernote allows teachers to keep all of their important information in one place. Teachers can connect to their Evernote account through a webpage, smartphone, or teacher's computer.
- Prezi is a non-linear visual presentation program. A great alternative to PowerPoint or Keynote. It's a new way for teachers to present information.
- Wikispaces is an easy wiki creation website. A wiki allows multiple users to modify the website. Wikipedia is a great example of a wiki.
- Wordle is a word cloud creation program. Wordle is a website that combines a series of words and creates a visual picture of frequently used words.
- Animoto allows teachers to take a group of photos and match it to a song. The program then compiles the photos and makes a musical video. It's an easy video creation program for teachers.
- PBworks is another easy to use wiki creation program. It's easy and free for teachers.
- DimDim is a program that allows users to control, present, and collaborate. Teachers can use DimDim to help students with homework from computer to computer.
- Elgg is an open-source social network program. Similar to Facebook, it allows students and teachers to collaborate online as well as communicate with other educators.
- Very simple site to shorten multiple URLs into one easy interface. Also integrates a counter to let you know how many visits you’ve had to the site. Copy and paste the addresses and click go!
- Bit.ly gives you the ability to shorten, track, & share links. Also has analytics to track usage.
- Tiny.url is a URL shortener that has been around for a while and can be added to your web browser toolbar.
- Concept mapping/brainstorming program that has some of the functionality of Inspiration/Kidspiration. Allows you to email, save, and print your creations, as well as embed them in your website.
- Interactive “poster” creation program can be used for interactive learning and dynamic student creativity.
- Interactive brainstorming program that integrates into Microsoft Office products.
- Netvibes gives you the ability to personalize your home search page, adding widgets for e-mail, facebook, weather, and more.
- Posterous allows you to send anything to the site (videos, photos, music, etc) and the site will instantly create a live posteerous address with your content on it to share.
- Screen and audio recording abilities to share, post, or archive for student review.
- From Google- Shares, organizes, edits photos online. Also houses many public photos that are grouped and easy to search and review.
- Free e-learning content creation tool. Gives many capabilities for online course creation, authoring, course preview and extraction to a server.
- File sync program that lets you access any files in the Dropbox folder from any computer or the Dropbox website. Free initial storage of 2 GB, syncs files across all your comuters and online.
